The Vascular Center at UMMC Midtown Campus provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of vascular disorders through a multidisciplinary approach. Our staff is made up of board-certified vascular surgeons and certified nurse practitioners who work in partnership with each patient's primary care provider, cardiologist, podiatrist and nephrologist to provide individualized, patient-centered, comprehensive health care. We combine the most advanced diagnostic capabilities with the full range of treatment options for vascular disease.

From office-based clinical evaluations to the most advanced, minimally-invasive surgery, the Center provides the full spectrum of medical and surgical services to patients with vascular disease of all varieties and severities, including:

  • Initial clinical evaluations and consultations for vascular disease

  • Non-interventional therapy

  • Expert second opinions for vascular conditions

  • Appropriate treatment selection and ability to measure the response to therapy

  • Investigational treatments for vascular disease

  • Smoking cessation counseling

  • Non-invasive diagnosis (ultrasound)

  • Exercise programs

  • Detection of vascular disease

  • Treatment of lower extremity wounds or ulcers

  • Evaluate and determine severity of disease

  • Lipid management (cholesterol and diet)

  • Drug therapy for claudication (pain caused by too little blood flow to the legs or arms)

  • Compression therapy for chronic venous disorders

Diseases treated at The Vascular Center include:

  • Thoracic aortic aneurysms and aortic dissections

  • Cerebrovascular (carotid) disease

  • Hemodialysis access

  • Renal artery disease

  • Mesenteric arterial disease

  • Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)

  • Deep venous thrombosis

  • Varicose veins, leg swelling, phlebitis and venous insufficiency
