Community Outreach

A Message to Our Community

The mission of the community health outreach program is to empower local communities by giving them the health education and resources they need.

Success Stories

Community initiatives by UM Midtown are making a positive impact on those in the Baltimore-area.

Community Benefit

To be recognized as a community benefit in Maryland, an activity must be intended to address community needs and priorities primarily through disease prevention and improvement of health status.

Community Health Needs Assessment

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ("ACA"), required hospitals to perform a community health needs assessment, adopt an implementation strategy to meet the needs identified and beginning in 2013, perform an assessment at least every three years thereafter.

Events Calendar

UMMC Midtown Campus runs all sorts of community events all year round. Discover which events are coming up in an area near you.

In 1911 University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus was under the management of the Methodist Church. The Women's Auxiliary of the Methodist Hospital Association was founded in May of that same year.

Public Service Announcement: Stop Smoking

Do you know what smoking and cigarettes can do to the inside of your body? As some of the youngest members of the UMMC community tell us, there's nothing good to come from smoking.
